Information we collect

We may collect information you provide directly, including name, email address, enquiry type, message content, newsletter consent, unsubscribe requests, correction requests, sponsor enquiries, and contact form metadata.

We may collect limited technical and usage information such as page views, referrer URL, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, campaign parameters, newsletter source, sponsor click events, and security logs.

How we use information

We use information to operate the publication, send newsletters, manage subscriptions, respond to contact requests, route Centry introduction requests, review corrections, improve article quality, understand readership, prevent abuse, and maintain site security.

We do not ask readers to submit private tax files, bank account details, wallet seed phrases, passwords, government ID numbers, medical information, or other highly sensitive material through public forms.

Newsletter and contact routing

Newsletter signups may store email address, consent text, signup source, confirmation status, unsubscribe token, timestamps, and related audit fields. Contact form submissions may be routed to Slack or other internal team systems so the right person can respond.

If you request a Centry introduction, the information you submit may be routed to the relevant Centry team or reviewed for appropriate follow-up. Do not submit confidential adviser-client information unless a proper relationship and secure channel have been established.

Analytics, cookies, and tracking

We may use analytics tools to understand aggregate readership, article performance, search behaviour, newsletter conversion, sponsor impressions, and outbound sponsor clicks. Analytics should be configured to minimise unnecessary personal data collection where practical.

Some tools may use cookies, similar technologies, or server-side logs. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some site functions may not work as expected if cookies are disabled.

Sharing and processors

We may share information with service providers that help us run the site, newsletter, analytics, hosting, database, security, Slack routing, sponsor reporting, and editorial operations. These providers may process information on our behalf.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, security needs, fraud prevention, rights protection, corporate restructuring, or with your direction or consent.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose collected, legal or operational requirements, consent records, abuse prevention, and audit needs. Newsletter unsubscribe records may be retained to respect suppression preferences.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no internet service is perfectly secure. Do not send highly sensitive personal, financial, tax, identity, or crypto information through public forms.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have rights to complain to a data protection authority.

You can contact us through the contact page for privacy requests. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests.
